Timeshare rentals are tied to fixed, owner-controlled reservations. For this reason, reservation changes are extremely limited once a booking is confirmed. This policy explains what can and cannot be modified after booking.
Changes That Are NOT Allowed
After payment is processed and your booking is confirmed, the following changes cannot be made:
- Check-in or check-out dates
- Unit type, size, or view
- Resort changes
- Switching to a different owner’s week
- Transferring the reservation to another traveler
- Substituting a new primary guest
- Altering the number of nights
These limitations come from resort and ownership rules, not RedWeek.
Name Changes
Name changes are allowed **only** for:
- Correcting typos
- Updating a legal name change
- Fixing spacing or punctuation errors
Name changes requested for the purpose of transferring the stay to another person are not permitted.
All name updates depend on resort deadlines and cannot be guaranteed if requested close to the arrival date.
Adding or Changing Guest Information
Some resorts require only the primary guest’s name. Others may require additional guest names.
The following apply:
- Additional guests may be added only when the resort requires it.
- The primary guest **cannot** be replaced.
- Requests must be made through RedWeek, not the resort.
Resort-Controlled Restrictions
Even if RedWeek approves an update, the resort may:
- Reject the request if their deadline has passed
- Require a guest certificate fee
- Require the owner to submit additional documentation
- Limit modifications during peak travel periods
This is why it is critical to provide accurate information at booking.
Correcting Errors
You should contact RedWeek immediately if:
- Your name is spelled incorrectly
- Your ID recently changed
- A minor booking detail needs clarification
Quick requests increase the likelihood of successful updates.
Changes Requested By the Resort or Owner
If the resort or owner makes a required modification after booking:
- RedWeek will notify you right away
- RedWeek will review whether the change is acceptable
- Significant changes (such as unit downgrades) may qualify for further review
Changes That May Be Considered (Case-by-Case)
RedWeek may evaluate:
- Updating the spelling/punctuation of your name
- Updating guest certificates required by vacation clubs
- Adding travelers when the resort mandates full guest lists
However, these are not guaranteed and depend on resort rules.
Summary
Timeshare reservations follow strict systems that allow very little flexibility after confirmation. Renters should consider all booking details final once payment is processed and must provide accurate information at the time of booking.
