To ensure a smooth arrival, renters should bring a few essential items when checking in at the resort. Having these documents ready helps the front desk locate your reservation and verify your stay quickly.
Required Items
1. **Government-issued photo ID**
- Must match the name on the reservation exactly
- Required for all resorts and most vacation clubs
2. **Credit or debit card**
- Used for refundable deposits
- Used for incidental charges (parking, amenities, etc.)
- Some resorts require a card in the primary guest’s name
3. **RedWeek booking confirmation**
- Printed or digital copy is accepted
- Shows proof of your stay and reservation details
Recommended Items
- Any check-in instructions sent by RedWeek
- A copy of the resort’s confirmation (if provided)
- Contact information for the resort’s front desk or owner services
- Parking details or vehicle registration (if required)
Resort Fees
Many resorts charge additional fees at check-in, such as:
- Resort or usage fees
- Parking fees
- Local taxes
- Guest certificate fees (certain timeshare brands)
These fees are separate from what you paid on RedWeek and are collected directly by the resort.
Name Matching Requirements
Make sure:
- The name on your RedWeek booking matches your ID
- Your name was correctly added to the reservation by the owner
- You update RedWeek immediately if your name has changed (marriage, legal changes, etc.)
If the Resort Cannot Find Your Reservation
Stay at the front desk and:
- Ask the agent to search under your full legal name
- Ask them to check the “owner” or “vacation club” system instead of the hotel system
- If it still cannot be located, contact RedWeek right away
