Travel insurance and RedWeek Booking Protection serve different purposes and are not interchangeable. Understanding the difference can help you decide whether travel insurance is right for your trip.
RedWeek Booking Protection applies to the rental transaction itself. It helps ensure that the listing is verified, the reservation is legitimate, and the booking is handled according to RedWeek’s policies.
Travel insurance, on the other hand, is designed to cover certain personal or external events that may prevent you from traveling. This can include covered medical issues, emergencies, or other situations defined by the insurance provider’s policy.
Travel insurance does not:
• Change RedWeek’s cancellation or refund policies
• Guarantee a refund for a canceled trip
• Override resort rules or rental terms
If you cancel a reservation, RedWeek’s cancellation policy still applies. Any potential reimbursement related to covered events would be handled separately through the travel insurance provider.
Travel insurance is optional. Some renters choose it for added peace of mind, while others rely solely on the booking terms. Reviewing both RedWeek policies and the insurance coverage details can help you make an informed decision.
